DoomStopper

Terms of Use

Draft dated 5 November 2026. This document is not legal advice and is not a final agreement.

Owner review required before publication. These draft terms do not name a registered company, address, or governing law. They must be reviewed and approved before they are treated as binding. This page currently includes a noindex directive so it is less likely to be indexed before approval.

1. Draft agreement

These draft terms would apply to DoomStopper, an iOS app from Sandar, and to related pages on sandar.dev. Until approval, this page is a working draft only. DoomStopper does not currently present a separate in-app clickwrap for these terms. After approval, the App Store may also apply Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

Sandar is an independent software brand operated by an individual developer. It is not currently a registered company. No company registration number, postal address, or jurisdiction is stated.

Contact: [email protected].

2. The app

DoomStopper is a Screen Time and focus app for iOS. It is intended to help you protect selected applications, categories, and websites during manual or scheduled focus, apply app shielding, run a cooldown after a budget is used, and budget time from scrolling. Optional Pro subscriptions and rewarded ads for some Free use are part of the product as currently built.

The app is coming soon to the App Store. These draft terms do not claim that it is available today, that it works on every device, or that it will remain unchanged.

3. Screen Time limitations

DoomStopper uses Apple’s Family Controls, Device Activity, and Managed Settings frameworks. Those system services, your Screen Time authorization, device settings, and iOS behavior all affect what the app can do.

  • You must grant Screen Time authorization on the device. Authorization is requested for you as the device owner. Without it, protection cannot run as designed.
  • Shielding applies to the applications, categories, and websites you select, not to the entire system.
  • When a scroll-based time budget is reached, selected items can be shielded. The shield does not offer a Continue Anyway unlock. Returning to those items is delayed by a cooldown you set in the app (currently at least 15 minutes).
  • Apple may change, limit, or interrupt Screen Time APIs. DoomStopper cannot override iOS.
  • Focus, shielding, and cooldowns are tools. They do not guarantee productivity, health, or any particular outcome.
  • DoomStopper is not a medical device, therapy, or parental-control service for managing another person’s device, and it is not a substitute for Apple’s own Screen Time settings.

If Apple, a device policy, a lost authorization, a system update, or a device reset interrupts protection, Sandar cannot promise that selected items will remain shielded.

4. Optional subscriptions

DoomStopper may be used on a Free tier. Free currently includes up to two protected applications, no protected categories, no protected websites, and up to 24 scheduled Focus Hours per week. Selecting more applications, or any category or website, or exceeding 24 weekly Focus Hours, may require watching a rewarded ad. Those limits may change; the app is the source of the current offer.

DoomStopper Pro is optional. If offered on the App Store, Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold as:

  • a monthly subscription; and
  • a yearly subscription.

Prices, if any, will be shown in the app and on the App Store at the time of purchase. This draft does not state a price. Pro, as currently built, removes those Free-tier selection and weekly-hour limits and does not use rewarded ads.

A subscription continues until you cancel. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. After purchase, you can manage or cancel in your Apple ID account settings.

Apple’s standard subscription disclosures also apply. See Apple Media Services Terms of Use and how to manage or cancel a subscription.

5. Apple billing, cancellation, and restoration

All paid subscriptions and in-app purchases described here are billed by Apple, not by a Sandar checkout page. Refund requests are handled under Apple’s policies. Sandar cannot directly cancel an Apple subscription on your behalf.

If you reinstall DoomStopper or change devices while signed in with the same Apple ID, use Restore Purchases in the app to reconnect an active subscription. Restoration depends on Apple’s StoreKit records and your Apple ID.

The current product configuration does not enable Family Sharing of Pro. Do not assume a subscription can be shared unless the App Store listing says otherwise.

6. Rewarded advertising

Free users may be offered a rewarded ad as a way to go beyond included limits. Ads are provided by Google AdMob. Ads may be unavailable, fail to load, or be dismissed by the user. An unavailable ad is not a defect that entitles anyone to Pro access. Privacy practices for ads are described in the Privacy Policy (draft).

7. Acceptable use

You may use DoomStopper only on a device you are authorized to manage, and only in a way that complies with Apple’s terms and applicable law. You may not attempt to interfere with Screen Time authorization, reverse-engineer the app except where the law allows, or use the app to violate another person’s rights.

8. Draft warranty language

The following is proposed wording, subject to applicable law, and must be reviewed before publication.

DoomStopper and this website are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sandar disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Sandar does not warrant that focus sessions, shielding, schedules, or cooldowns will be uninterrupted, error-free, or effective for your purposes.

Some places do not allow implied-warranty disclaimers. If those rules apply to you, some of the above may not apply, and you may have additional rights that cannot be waived.

9. Draft limitation of liability

The following is proposed wording, subject to applicable law, and must be reviewed before publication.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sandar will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or loss of use, arising out of or related to DoomStopper or this website, even if advised of the possibility of those damages.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sandar’s total liability for any claim arising out of or related to DoomStopper or this website will not exceed the amount you paid, if any, for DoomStopper Pro in the three months before the claim, or the minimum amount that applicable law requires if that amount is higher.

Nothing in this draft is intended to exclude or limit liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such a limitation is prohibited.

This draft does not choose a governing law or venue. Sandar is not currently a registered company. That choice requires an owner decision and legal review.

10. Changes

If these terms are approved, Sandar may update them. The date at the top of the page should change when they do. How revised terms are accepted — for example through an App Store update, a notice on this site, or another method required by law — remains an open question for review. This draft does not claim that continued use alone is sufficient in every place.

Open questions for review

  • Choose governing law and venue, or decide to remain silent. Sandar is not currently a registered company.
  • Confirm production App Store prices and subscription group names. Family Sharing is not enabled in the current product configuration; confirm the live App Store listing before saying otherwise.
  • Confirm whether Apple’s Standard EULA will be used in addition to, or instead of, these custom terms, and how users are shown them (the in-app paywall currently has no working policy URLs).
  • Have counsel review warranty, liability, and consumer-protection language for every country of sale.
  • Remove the draft banner, noindex tag, and “draft” wording only after approval.
