What it does

DoomStopper uses Apple’s Screen Time frameworks to protect the applications, categories, and websites you choose.

Manual focus

Start a focus session when you are ready. Pause it if you need to, and end it when you are done.

Scheduled focus

Set Focus Hours in advance so protection can begin on a schedule, without opening the app at the last minute.

Shielding and cooldown

When a scroll-based time budget is reached, selected applications, categories, and websites can be shielded. The shield does not offer a Continue Anyway unlock. A cooldown follows, with a duration you set in the app (currently at least 15 minutes).

Scroll-based time budgets

You choose a scrolling limit for each cycle. DoomStopper turns that limit into a time budget, then shields when the threshold is reached. An optional personal note can appear on the shield.

Free and Pro

The app is usable without a subscription. Pro is optional. Prices, if offered, will appear in the app and on the App Store at the time of purchase.

Free

Included use

Free currently includes up to two protected applications, no protected categories, no protected websites, and up to 24 scheduled Focus Hours per week. Going beyond those limits may require watching a rewarded ad.

Optional

DoomStopper Pro

Optional monthly and yearly auto-renewing subscriptions, billed through Apple. Pro removes those Free-tier selection and weekly-hour limits, and does not use rewarded ads.

Subscriptions are handled by Apple. You can restore purchases in the app and manage or cancel them in your Apple ID settings. See the Terms of Use (draft) for billing details.

A note on Screen Time

DoomStopper depends on Apple’s Family Controls, Device Activity, and Managed Settings APIs. Protection applies to the applications, categories, and websites you select after granting Screen Time authorization on the device. It cannot outrun iOS, replace Apple’s own Screen Time settings, or promise a particular outcome. Availability is currently planned for iOS, and the app is not yet on the App Store.
